  1. DON'T feel guilty, ya hear? :)
I'm different to you in that I didn't want to breastfeed- purely for my own reasons, not because I couldn't produce enough milk.
I NEVER allowed myself to feel guilty for that decision.
Many many women who start breastfeeding give up for a variety of reasons and all their babies grow perfectly healthily on formula milk. Don't pay any attention to the horror stories.
If you really can't/don't want to breastfeed your baby will have everything it needs from you- love and attention. :)

  2. Does your hospital or community have mom groups you can join? Or anybody you can talk about feeling like this? I'm not a mom, but I would bet any money that you are not the only person to ever feel this way. You are trying to do what's best for your son, and you should not have to feel guilty that it's not what some other people consider the "right" way.

    1. I am part of this mom grp- the mention of bottle made them look at me as if I was insane..
I do talk to this to my bff who has 2 kids and has gone through the same thing - but I just don't manage to get a hold of my mind and stop the guilt.. I guess I just have to let it be..

    2. I hate people who are so closed minded. Just because something works for them doesn't mean it works for everybody. I'm glad you have at least one person to talk to. Just be kind to yourself and remember you are doing your very best.

  3. As a mother you need to do what is best for your child. Your child needs enough nutrients to grow and he needs his mommy at her best. As an outsider of the situation formula seems like wonderful option. And if you want you could do one breastfeeding a day perhaps before bed? Not sure if that is logical but again there is not a rule book.

  4. You're not a sucky mum!!! You're just doing what is best for your child- that makes you a good mother! Please give yourself a break honey. Take a breath and a step back from the situation- what advice would you give a friend in the same situation? Would you be so hard on them?
Chin up gorgeous, it will get better xxx

  5. It's natural for you too be worried and feel a little guilty. You know you're doing the best thing you can for you and your child, whatever you choose, so let yourself make the choice. I have faith in you :)

  6. You are feeling guilty because you love your son and you want to give what is best for him. The best reason for the worst feeling :/

You are NOT doing anything wrong! There is no denying that there are benefits to breastmilk that formula does not offer. You know what? Your son has had those benefits for the first months of his life! Changing to formula now doesn't change what you have already provided for him. If low milk production means formula is the best option for him now, then give him formula. It's no more your fault than if you'd had a mastectomy. It's biology, not parenting skills.

So sorry you're going through this... Try to be gentle with yourself.
