LCHF!

Starting tomorrow I am going to go on LCHF diet. I am planning on staying on it until end of this year, and then see where to go from there.  I have tried Atkins before but it didn't work well for me cause I just didn't know what to eat, and as we all know a not properly planed diet is a diet you will fail on..

I've changed my goals on MFP, and it is now set to 1500 calories, 5% carbs, 25% protein and 70% fat. I know for sure that I will have a hard time upping my fat intake - but I guess this means I need to start buying "real" food instead of all the low fat stuff I normally go for. They haven't worked for me so far - so how good can they be for me anyways?

I will now be posting more pictures on the "food" blog, but I think there will be a whole lot of eggs in my upcoming future!

  1. Good luck!! You are pretty good with low carb. I'm eating egg beaters as we speak. : )

    1. Thanks :) I think giving up rice, bread, pasta ect is the best choice for me right now. I just don't have the self control to not overeat when I have them.. I will however miss fruits, but I know I will be able to add it to my diet when my weight is more under control.

  2. This is what I'm trying to do too!! Best of luck Kitty! I had the most difficult time going from 0% to 2% fat milk! But that's one thing I've managed to do. There's no way my brain will let me drink whole milk though... Now planning on switching from non fat to low fat yogurt. Then adding some olive oil to my meals (I don't use ANY oil when cooking and that needs to change. It's such a long process mentally as well as physically but we can do it!

  3. I need a major overhaul but I'm not sure what exactly. I've been toying with the idea of going LCHF, but I'm leery of jumping into ketosis hardcore (transitioning can be rough). The upside is that it is SO easy to lose weight. I never even had to count calories when I did low-ish (100 grams a day) carb, so going over your cals will probably not hurt as long at it is all LC. Maybe I will do a gradual carb reduction?

    Best of luck!

    1. Thanks hon :)
I really hope to lose some proper weight on this before end of this year. I think you would do right in cutting carbs gradually. I just don't have the self control to do it right now.
