90 lbs in 90 days!

So I was watching the "I used to be fat" episode with Marci - on MTV (slow Monday at work) - and that girl is just such a pain .. She is so lazy and annoying and OMFG .. She fucking lost 90 lbs in 90 days.. WTF!

If she can do it - so can I... So here is the challenge.. 90 days - 90 lbs. I am starting tomorrow- since tbh I have no idea how much I weigh now. I want to have the numbers clear..

So here it is:
Start date: 2011.10.11  - end date: 2012.01.11 AKA 90 days..
The challenge is to lose 90 lbs during those 90 days!

Remember. The reason why I think I can do this is cause I am massive. When I have lost 90 lbs I still have a long way to go before my very sane and healthy GW.

The plan ?? Counting and cardio..

I think I am ready girls.. I think I just am ready..

  1. you can totally do it, Kitty. Just remember to vary your workouts in order to keep your body guessing. Don't do just one type of cardio, you can do the treadmill a couple of days then the elliptical then the bikes, and even on those you can do different workouts. I like to do the 10K one day then hills the next, then arms and legs workout, then intervals - that's four different workouts on one piece of equipment (the elliptical/cross trainer)

I think also interval training is the best way to burn fat, as it keeps your heart rate elevated

You can also do the "fat burn" workouts on the elliptical/treadmill if you have those options. I find they work very well for me. And when you are doing a workout, and you have high resistance intervals followed by low resistance, work harder on the high resistance and relax on the low. You burn more that way. Most people tend to go slower on the high resistance because it's harder, but doing it the other way is actually more beneficial from my experience

With calories, I think people recommend don't eat less than 1000, I think that's ideal, BUT that's also hypocritical from my end because I'm pretty sure I don't hit 1000 unless I binge. So I don't actually know how much eating would be enough to sustain weight loss, but my guess is if you calorie shift, it will work better, same as varying your exercise you should also vary your intake, but still make sure you get enough so you don't binge.

Working out in the morning if possible is better for your metabolism and also means you don't have excuses at the end of the day like you're too tired. Better to get it out of the way first thing. Coffee like 30min to 1hour before your workout is the best energy booster out there, it really works for me

And the first days are hard, but if you keep at it, you'll find yourself looking forward to going to the gym, and you get annoyed with yourself if you miss a workout. The human body actually evolved for long-distance running, which means that innately we still have that need for cardio exercise (perhaps more than strength training), and we get satisfaction and serotonin release from cardio, so just stick with it, and it soon becomes second nature!

Anyway, sorry for the long comment, that;s just my two cents I suppose. But I'm here for you for support, and I believe you can do it! xoxo

  3. I loved that program! One of the few good things on MTV. 90lbs in 90 days is insane though! Good luck, but take care. That is a lot of weight even if you are overweight. xx

  4. Glad yoour finally feeling positive and ready to work hard!! Send some of that energy my way!! :)

Listen....although I think your wonderful and can accomplish ANYTHING....I do want to say one thing. I have also watched all of those episodes online. Those people work out for 4 to 6 hours A DAY. I am not trying to say you cannot do this. Just please dont be upset with yourself if you dont loose 90 in 90. We unfortunately have lives....grrr.....and cannot dedicate everyday to being health nuts. :(

Either way I think you're wonderful and can still loose a ton if you stay positive. Good luck dear!! :)
